Design of functional metallo-supramolecular assemblies

Tuesday 12 February at 13h30, Marie-Claire Dul (Laboratoire de Chimie et Physico-chimie des Actinides, Institut de Chimie Séparative de Marcoule, Bagnols-sur-Cèze)

Introducing functionality into self-assembled compounds is one of the challenges nowadays in supramolecular chemistry in order to design new compounds with specific structure and controlled properties. The choice of metal ions is of major interest in metallo-supramolecular chemistry: They control the assembly during the synthesis and also introduce new properties. Based on specific ligands and d/f-elements, the rational design and synthesis of this kind of functional and self-assembly polymetallic systems will be presented for magnetic, electrochemical and separation purposes.
