Generation of high magnetic field : research and development

The objectives of the LNCMI-Grenoble in terms of high magnetic field generation are:

  • Generating the highest static magnetic fields possible, with resistive magnets, copper alloy based, or with hybrid magnets  combining superconducting and resistive magnets.
  • Developing resistive magnets with particular geometries for neutron or X-ray scattering (with ILL and ESRF), for ion sources (with LPSC) and for magnetic levitation (with CEA INAC and CNES).
